A Senufo stool is hand-carved in a single block of Iroko wood by the Senufo tribe of the Ivory Coast in Africa.
Heavy and stable used as seats but were also used as washboards where they stay anchored in the river.
Each is unique due to cracks imperfections wear and color variations which form part of its character developed through age and use.
They are presently used in houses as side tables or seats and are highly sought after by designers.
